I don't know, but I just sold my fender blues jr. It's a great little amp and I used it for a year, but I'm looking for something bigger, louder. I loved the sound, and didn't care much about the FAT switch. It would've been nice to keep it and just add another amp, but I needed the money to apply to another one. So any ideas on the next level amp with similar feel to the blues jr?? How about a Line 6 Spider III amp, (:-), any amp suggestions are cool!

DRRI. It's the next logical step up, and the godlike 6V6s are way better than the EL84s tone-wise. And it's louder than ****.

You may want to consider the HotRod Deluxe. It has great tone, and is plenty loud for most situations. It is alot heavier than your Blues Jr weighing in at about 50 lbs, but with 40 watts you are getting almost 3 times the power. I had a black HRD and made the mistake of trading it. I missed the tone, so I purchased a tweed HRD and I wont make the mistake of getting rid of it. I play that one as much as my Vibro King Custom.

And of course consider the Blues Deluxe Reissue. A lot of folks consider that to be the purer, sweeter-sounding alternative to the also excellent Hot Rod series.

I just purchased a 65 DRRI and can't be happier. I considered the Blues Deluxe but just couldn't tame the 40 W for the small to medium venue size. The 65 DRRI is very loud and I find that it even sounds great at 1 on the volume where the tubes are not pushed at all. I am of corse talking clean sound.

Go give one a play you may like what you hear!!!

I have been on an amp quest for years and have owned a good variety of fender tube amps, for me after alot of searching and playing I found two that did it for me, the hot rod deville 4 x 10 and my current amp an original made in the U.S.A. Blues deville 4 x 10.

if you try a 4 x 10 Fender you may just never go back !!!!!!

I know I wont!
