I found a used Hot Rod Deville amp in need of some TLC at a guitar shop over the weekend. I don't know what year this model was made because the plate on the back has had most of its lettering rubbed off. I was trying it out and I really fell in love with its tone and simplicity. This amp was suprisingly loud at just over 1 on the volume knob.

I checked the palte again and I was able to read the wattage at the amp, clear as day, as being 120W. I know that the Hot Rod Deville and similar combo amps usually come in 60 and 40w models, so was a reading the plate wrong on the back like 120/2 for each of the 12" speakers? I could not find any information out there about a 120w Hot Rod... so I am starting to doubt its existence.

Any information you would have would be greatly appreciated.

PS I did not buy the amp, but I am plannign on returning to the store this weekend to make an offer.

Thanks.

The 120 watts refers to the amount of power the amp draws from the wall outlet, not how much power it puts out. All the Devilles put out 60 watts.
