So my basic question, how do you get that screaming noise (Like Gilmour, Hendrix, etc.) on a Hot Rod deville? I know both Hendrix and Gilmour had fuzz pedals in their chain, but i was wondering if there was a way to do this with just an amp.
I have both humbucker guitars and single-coil guitars available, and I imagine there would be some slight differences, but the general idea is the same minus the humbuckers higher output.
Thank you,
invin

Mind you I am no huge expert, but the scream has alot to do with how you play the note and not the amp.

For example http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=65XJ6V__pvE

Or I may play two notes at the sime time while bending, the right combination can give you a great growl or scream.

Running through some effects or even a wah, like hendrix can turn it into a monster. You can do it even on the cheapest amps.

bend a note, push your toe forward on your wah pedal at the same time, and get a TS-9 or TS-808 Tube Screamer :D

Thanks for the replies,
That is very cool Mr. ND, not quite what I was looking for, but uber cool nonetheless :D
Aldric, I think a Tubescreamer pedal may be all I need, it is in the name after all :) lol
Also, I haven't been able to get the volume over 1 1/2 without being afraid to go deaf, so that may also be the reason I don't get the "tubescreamer" sound...
Thanks again,
invin
