Hello all! I am a first time fender amp buyer and I want some advice on which amp would be the best suited for me. Now dont get me wrong, Im a first time fender amp buyer, not a novice guitarist. I need an amp that can gig in blues clubs, record in a studio, sounds good mic'd, and an amp that is dependable and wont need to be taken into the shop every three months. The top of my budget for this amp is 1800. I am a blues-rock, blues, rock, funk, phsychodelic-blues player. I play a fender american deluxe strat.

So if you have suggestions or constructive input please help me out!

Depends how much power you need, these all fall under your $ limit :)
I'd be happy with any of them for gigging,,.if a PA is available for the low powered ones.

Pro Twin 100 watts 2*12 about 1600$
Twin reverb 85 watts 2*12 about 1400$
Super reverb 45 watts 4*10 about 1500
Deluxe reverb 22 watts 1*12 about 1000$

For recording a Princton recording amp is nice.
15 watts, 1 * 10 about 1400$

Yea the 65 twin reverb seams to be my best bet at this point. I've tried it in stores and love it but Im still open minded about other amps..

Anybody have any say on super sonics?

The SuperSonic is my favorite current Fender amp. I've played through one extensively, and I love the clean tones, the drive... I even thnk the :Burn" channel is perfectly usable.

That said, there are a lot of truly great amps out there for $1,800 or less that don't say Fender on them. You might want to do some shopping around. FOr example, you say you want to be able to gig in blues clubs, record, play at home, etc. You could buy an Egnater Rebel head and two of their 1x12" cabs for around $1,100 out the door, and then have a rig that will:

* go from one watt to 20 watts
* let you choose 6v6 or EL84 tubes, or blend the two
* let you o single 12 or twin 12
* Go high-gain, squeaky clean or whatever in between

An incredibly versatile rig, and great-sounding, too (I've got one and it kills). Or check out the new Rebel 30 combo, a pile of versatility in a single 12 or 2x12" combo box.

There are also amps in your price range from Fuchs, Allen, Bogner.... a long list of great sounding amps.

All of the amps listed will do the job for you. They are the professional lineup and should give years of trouble free service. It just depends on your needs and how deep your pockets are. :D I'd stay away from the lower end stuff unless you want to give your tech a bunch of work. :D

Do check out the Egnater Rebel. IMO one of the most versatile and well built amps on the market today.

Well went to the guitar shop today and tried em all out...
I found that I liked the super reverb the best. The deepness of the four speakers really stood out to me. I also liked the twin verb but it had terrible tube rattle.

I feel you bro. I am getting a new amp to upgrade from a peavey classic 30 which is synonymos for tube buzz. Horrible tube rattle, almost as loud as the notes im playing! A lot of the fender amps have a foam system to prevent tube rattling and such. I dont know why they dont do that for all of there amps!

Most combos develop tube rattle at some point. It's the nature of the beast. Tube dampers help. Mine come from Herbie's Audio, but the "O" ring type work well too.

If I was given $1800 to buy a Fender amp, I'd go to the used gear section of guitar centers website, find a nice used custom shop Vibro-King 3x10 and click "buy"
