Anyone know the process if I made my '65 Princeton Reverb RI into a head. Would this be an easy job or something that would require some work and done by a professional? I know that the internal speaker would be gone, but does anything happen to the external speaker jack, does it remain 8 ohms?

Why? It's not that big to begin with. Just get an extension cabinet and toss the Princeton on top. You can take the speaker out of the Princeton to lighten it up if you want to.

Hello Pjking81,

I made a simple box for my Blues Jr Head
just poped the chassis in.

Take a good look at the Princeton chassis
for feasability.

pjking81, if you go the re-housing route, the impedence that your output tranformer wants to see will not change. Use an 8 ohm load and your all good. 8) Mike( By the way nice cab Bill !!!)

Are the tubes hanging out past the edge of the cabinet or is it just an optical illusion?

Yeah RJ, should be an easy R&R. I'm sure Mojo built the cab with enough clearance to mount the reverb tank on the bottom. Just drill the pilot holes(if need be) and mount the tank first. I'd get shorter cables for the tank, they only need to be as long as necessary to connect the tank to the chassis and routed(secured) away from the tubes. The external spkr. jack is in paralell with the main spkr. out. You would not need to use this, unless you run two seperate 16ohm cabs into the amp. One 8ohm cab with any spkr. array should go into the main spkr. out. Be aware that the amp is getting less cooling(ventilation) in the head, unlike Mr. Bill's design, especially with his 90 degree reorientation of the chassis. Neat cab Mr. Bill. Good Luck! Art
