I have a Blues DeVille 410, and for you guys out there who have played one, you know what Im talking about when I say that they're LOUD!
I read somewhere that I could change one of the tubes to make it more "bedroom-legal". Does anybody know what kind of tubes Im looking for?

No tubes will make a HRDV 410 bedroom legal. I tried, but mah HRDV 212 just lacked heart at low volumes, kinda like driving a Ferrari going the speed limit. You could put in JJ 6V6s but that will give just a modest drop in wattage (From 60 to like 35-40, same loudness as a HRD which is still friggin loud) plus lower ur headroom (good or bad depending on how much ya like headroom). I got mahself a little Champ to play in mah room, my friend has a Weber attentuator for his and it sounds pretty good too, those are the two roads I would suggest for suitable bedroom levels.

edit: Shouldn't say not tubes won't make it legal, that depends on what your concept of legality is <_<

For a bedroom, I just get a Champion 600 on one of the other Champ Amps. It would probably be cheaper in the long run. Attenuators usually mess with the tone. Every one I ever bought went back.

I've recently put a Weber attenuator on my Champ to bring it down a little. It's working well for me but it's on 8, from 10, which is not much attenuation and it keeps my sound really good. But if I needed more attenuation it would surely rob me of highs and/or lows.

I have two HRDV's that don't leave the "Man Cave" so volumes have to be low. I use a Hot Plate and an Omnisonic (eBay), I prefer the Omnisonic because the Hot Plate is a tone thief. Luckily I have a Les Paul Jr. and a Micro Cube also...
