Don't really need it, but it's a great price. I currently have a Super Champ XD. Not gigging just plaing at home. Is the HRDX more than I will need? I guess owning 2 amps is no big deal.

Well it depends on how big home is.I live in a whole house and my gf doesnt care how loud i play it.If you live in apartment or with mom and dad ot would probably be too loud.

The HR Deluxe is a LOUD amp

You will need a large room to get it cranked and I have never got it past 5 or 6 on clean, and I have never gone beyond 5 or so with the gain on full and the amplifier goes to 12!

My opinion, it will be more than you need it you are just going to use it for home use. Depending on your neighbours you can probably only really crank it on the weekends.

I have never heard this amp but it has the same features as a HR Deluxe and is only a little bit more expensive (well at least in AUD). This amplifier is a 20w valve amp which is half the HR at 40w. I would love to plug into this amplifier when I can afford it down the track. Here is a link:

It doesn't get too much louder after 5 or 6. You get most of the volume early on. It's kind of a marketing gimmick. Hot Rod, get it? I usually run mine around 9 or 10 clean and control the volume with my guitar. It sounds pretty sweet like that in my situation. It's really no louder than any other 40 watter. 40 watts IS loud, so is 20.

Yeah it's loud, I got one for home use and I hardly ever use it!
bought a 15 watt Crate tube amp and even that's loud for a bedroom amp.
thinking about the Vox AC4, anyone try it yet?
