Today I finally got to see just how loud my amp will go. :D For those of you who had questions about breakup on the clean channel of the Band Master VM and the Deluxe VM, here are your answers.

Breakup begins on about volume four for humbuckers and volume five for single coils, and it's already plenty loud at that point. Around seven-eight it gets really crunchy. And at ten it just kills (in a good way). I totally understand why people with tube amps like to crank 'em up that loud, the breakup is fantastic. The distortion sort of reminded me of a RAT or a Big Muff, maybe a little like a Fuzz Face. It was loud enough to almost drown out the drum set, but it didn't sound like it was struggling. The gym where my band practices has real reverb that makes everything sound really cool too. :) I didn't get a chance to check out what the O/D channel sounds like dimed, but maybe I can try that at my next practice.

I'll bet the drummer was though.

Thanks for the review!

Glad you like the sound of the Bandmaster VM cranked. The sound you described, Rat, Big Muff, etc., is more accurate than you think. The Bandmaster VM is all solid state on the clean channel until you get to the tube power amp.
