Does anyone have any experience with the two BOSS pedals that simulate the '59 Bassman and the '65 Deluxe Reverb ? The videos and sound bites look pretty good (as you would expect).

While I know its not the real thing, this might be any interesting way to simulate the great vintage Fender tone from a solid state amp.

I had an opportunity to try those pedals, along with the AC-3 Acoustic simulator pedals plugged into a FM25. They actually had pretty decent sound. Of course, they are not the real thing, but if you had people blindfolded and asked which was real and which was simulated...depending on volume, most would not be able to tell.

In fact, I am looking for a small bedroom amp, and I might just grab the FM25 for the $125 that GC has them for....if I don't take home a Roland. Just something to go with the Deluxe, which is big, and the Vibrolux I am trying to acquire.

By the way, try the Boss ME70 pedal......it might take a few weeks to figure it all out, but a buddy at my local guitar store swears by it, and said I need one......

They're both good pedals. The only problem I saw with the 65 DR was the reverb settings sounded weird if you used a hard attack on the strings and turned thr reverb up a bit. Kind of like digital artifacts. Just remember they are what they are and they won't make a bad sounding amp sound like a Bassman or a DR. I wish they did though :D

They still sound sort of digital to me, but still pretty nice. Try them if you can, you may like them.

I own the 59 Bassman pedal, it's pretty nice. It won't transform a solid state into a 59 Bassman but it does give a nice thick overdrive sound and will make the solid state sound less like, well, a solid state. I prefer it used in front of a champ or something similar, to push the amp even further and get some very interesting overtones. It isn't the greatest overdrive pedal in the world, but it is nice if you can find it at a good price IMHO
