In the new Sam Ash flyer, they are offering these amps in a blue tolex covering and with a Celestion Blue speaker. With this speaker(at 15 watts capacity?) how would it hand the amp's 22 watts capacity? I'm thinking of an earlier break-up and less of the "Fender clean" Maybe a little more mid-rangey?

I like my current Deluxe, but I'd love to check this new one out. I've got to hear the Blue in it.

I'm not a fan of the DRRI, but I love the look of that blue one! It would go great with my Chrome Blue Strat.

$1,500??!? For a DRRI?

Whoah. You're getting up into the"for a few bucks more, I could have a Dr Z./Top Hat/Fuchs/Victoria/etc." territory. Sure, it's blue and all, but I don't think it can compete in a category we might call "20-watt combo amps over $1,400."

That's why we live in America. We have free choice to chase down whatever we want.

Yeah, in Germany, France, the UK, Spain, Italy, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Greece, Cuba, and Iceland, there's only one government approved amp and you have to buy it. Only in America do we have real consumer freedom.

But joshing aside, duoman, if you wanna blow $1,500 on a mass-produced PCB amp that sounds fair-to-middling good because they wrapped it in blue vinyl, by all means knock yourself out. I'm just saying that you could spend that money on a much better amp. A DRRI is totally worth the $750 you used to be able to get one for, but it's not worth 1.5K if they cover it with the Shroud of Turin.

I'm not disagreeing about the cost. I would go to listen to this amp, not to buy one. I've aleady got a DRRI, that I paid less than $800 for. I'm more interested in what the Celestion/VOX blue speaker does for this amp. It could be that sometime, I will change the speaker in mine.
But........I've heard that the blue covering can actually improve your tone and your love life.
