I have a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe amp. The last couple of times I played it, the power indicator lamp (red light) turned off after playing about 10 mins or so. The amp still worked fine with no problems at all, even though the light was off. Once I finish playing, turn the amp off.........then later play again, the light will work for a while, then turn off.

I bought some extra lamps to replace the old one to see if that would make a difference, however that amp is not at my current location, so I'll have to wait another week or so before I can try the lamp swap.

Is this a common problem (described above) to have an intermitant lamp? I would think it would either work, or burn out completely.

Just trying to get a few ideas to take with me, when I head up to the amp's location.

It happens. Replace the bulb. Sometimes the socket connections go bad too.

I'm hoping that is all it is. It just threw me that's it's not just burned out completely.

If it's a socket connection, I'll just live without the light. As long as the amp itself works. I don't want to pay all kinds of money on a repair on a light, when the actual amp is working.

I will check all that out. I have the amp at a different location right now. I'll be able to do the suggestions in a week or so.

I had the same problem on my Blues deluxe - turned out to be the bulb that was not tighht ion the socket and when the amp warmed up it lost contact.

After I screwed it in tighter no more problems.
