I have a CT version 1.3 and have used it relatively little over the last few years - once a week at the most.

Three weeks ago the display was blank when I switched on and the channels changed on their own. The next day I tried again and it was fine. A few days later I tried again and the amp gave me a really hard time - switching channels, display hieroglyphics, blank display, no tuner function, no channel selection lights, no response to pressing channel select buttons, general freak out.

Any clues to this mystery?

Thanks, guys.

Try a reboot on it. The instructions are in your owners manual.

Hey mrspyderman - thanks for your suggestion. The "reboot" function only resets the stored factory presets - it doesn't reset the mother board. This is what I have heard. Is this right, or does it actually do a hard/soft reset?

Hey Johnny - the CT has behave very well for the past two days after the restore presets action. Could I be imagining it - the sound is better - back to what it was when I bought it?

Also, any idea of how I can save my presets outside the amp - I am an Apple Mac user, so the computer option is out. Thanks, Johnny.

Actually, Cyber Commander will work on a mac, but with Parallels and XP installed.

While we developed Cyber Commander, we found that "funny" data can put the Cyber Twin into outer space - it could not recover unless a factory reset was done. We did this by just playing around with different settings. We exercised the heck out the Cyber Twins so we know where they are vulnerable and what the works arounds are. The reason why the Cyber Twin can go into outer space is that its software has not been exhaustively exercised or made made robust. "Funny" input data can totally screw up the Cyber Twin. The way out is a reset. The SE is "touchier" than the original. I wish we could have done the software for the Cyber Twin.

Every once in a while, it's a good idea to reset the Cyber Twin. First back up your Player's Lounge and MIDI Map, reset, then restore your data. Cyber Commander is very useful and makes this painless to do.

ciao,
johnny.
