I just bought a MIM Tele, and an FM 212R
combo amp. It's been 40 + years since I played
with any seriousness. I must be going through a
second childhood.

I'm trying to set the amp for the classic Fender
sound on the clean channel, and seem to be
having some problems. I just can't seem to get
it right.

Any, and all help would be greatly appreciated.
Also I want to set the other channel for a classic
blues sound.

I plan on taking lessons, as I haven't played in,
like I mentioned 40 + years. I guess since I
retired, I really have too much time on my hands.

Thanks all.

Rasputan

Pick up that guitar, turn on a good tube amp (I want to get one myself) and roll on. You might be able to go a long way towards a Blues Junior if you trade in the FM.

Well, thanks for the advise. Being on a
fixed income I'm kind'a limited on my
spending. I don't have the luxury of
trying different amps.

I didn't know about this site till after I
bought the set-up that I have. Wish I'd
known about it before I bought what I
did.

I hope I'm not coming across as being
too harsh, I don't mean it that way.

Thanks again,

Rasputan

You're not coming across as harsh. I hope I'm not coming across like a hemophiliac (Russian joke).

Seems like GC has a return policy that's like long and you can use that to take back the FM and get a Blues Junior. Hey, I don't have the rig myself but as soon as I'm able to hypnotize my wife or in any other way to convince her to go along with it, I'm going to get it. I was thinking about the Carvin Vintage 16 but the Blues Junior gets nothing but positives, and it's like a cult. The Carvin's not easy to find and give a listen, and I've played the Blues Junior, set up all wrong, and it was sounding good. Dude, if you get a Blues Junior you can get those Russian Groove Tubes for it.
