I need someone to help me with what is the proper order to turn my amp on. Here is a pic of the power switch and the stand-by switch. Does the Stand-by switch go to the 'on"position prior to placing the power switch to "on". When I am playing should both switches be in the "on" positions?

Thanks alot for your advice!

I cant see your picture (I'm at work). But typically, when you power the amp on it should be on standby. Leave it on standby to warm up for a min or whenever you're not playing. Then take it off standby when you're ready or the amp is warm.

To turn it off reverse the procedure, put it back on standby then turn the power off.

Hope this helps.

Thanks atolleter, now a new question. The stand-by switch has a "on" position and a "standby" position.

Is the amp in the "Stand-By" mode when the switch is in the "on" or "Standby" position?

I hope I'm not confusing the heck out of you with my explanation.

When the standby switch is on the standby position the amp is on standby.
When the standby switch is on the ON position, the amp is on.

Just out of curiosity, what amp are we talking about? Hot Rod, Bassman, ...?

I know I feel like a thief!

This is my first tube amp and I love it. I was playing and trying different things last night, man that is a sweet tone. My wife actually stuck her head in the room and ask "is that you? It sounds nice, real bluesy"

Pretty loud for home use though. Can you crank it to get the tubes to break up?

Yeah my nearest neighbor is about a quarter mile from me so yeah I crank it up. LOL

Good for the neighbors, that they are that far huh?

It is loud, I have a SS FM 65 DSP, same wattage but the HR is so much louder.

Why is a tube amp louder with the same wattage?

Actually if they are rated the same power output they will be the same power output but the tube will sound louder to your ears. Just because again the tubes break up produce an over driven sound that is louder to our ears. Something about the linear property of the sound.
