Hey guys,

I'm trying to figure out how to setup midi on a roland fc300 to my Fender Cybertwin SE. I've got the manual for the roland out, but it seems to be going over my head. Can someone point me in the right direction with this stuff?

Thanks

I investigated using the Roland FC200 with the CyberTwin SE. The FC200 had a specific range of MIDI controller numbers which I cannot now recall; however, it was something like 0-90. If you will look at the CyberTwin manual, you will see that the MIDI controller numbers for the most part are in the 118, 119, 120 range (this is from memory, so this is perhaps not exactly correct). Nonetheless, the FC200 was useless because it only went up to 90. I have no experience with the FC300; however, check it's range of controller numbers against the numbers assigned to the various parameters in the CyberTwin manual and see what you come up with. I think part or all of the reason Fender assigned the high end range of controller numbers to the amp's parameters is so that you would have to buy the Fender foot controller; however, I do have a Nobels foot controller which permits the full range of MIDI controller numbers and thus works fine with the CyberTwin.

Just as I expected! The FC300 has the same limitation as the FC200.... what a bummer. :(

I spoke to Roland's support and they said the only way to make this work would be to reassign the CC#'s in the amp... and I'm guessing there's no way to do this?

I know of no way to reassign the amp. I feel your pain; however, if you get a cyber controller, your pain will go away and you will be as happy as a clam (and so will Fender). You could sell the Roland or use it to control something else like a drum machine - just trying to help with some ideas. All the best.

I see a couple on craigs list... I'll keep an eye on those because they're at a good price... it's so hard to find a cyber controller these days.
