Hi! I just joined the forum. Of course I have a question! Thanks for asking. Just kidding.

My question is this. Why cant I find a Fender Blues Deluxe that looks anything like mine on the internet? I have looked high and low, far and wide and nothing.

Let me tell you what I know.

It has blonde tolex.

It is American made, Brea Ca, Is what it says on the back.

It has a full faceplate that reads: Fender Blues Deluxe

It's backplate says: Fender Deville. (I know  )

It is not a reissue. PCB says 93. And if I have decoded the Quality Inspection sticker correctly, this is a 95.

It's typical Blues deluxe in features, 2 channel, blah blah blah, you guys know.

Below are some pictures, anyone care to hazard a guess as to why it is so different from those that I have seen online?

I picked up 3 days ago in Athens Ga from a guy who says he had it 15 years. I don't know anything about fender amps and have never owned a tube amp, so I really wanted it and neglected to ask anything else about it. Then I got home and started doing all the typical research a new tube amp owner would but this one "stands out" as being different from all the other ones I have seen.

But it does have a sweet tone compared to my SS Line 6 Spider III 150. :D

I'm sure the tone is sweet. Maybe this jewel isn't supposed to be known about to the public. Just kidding, however i am still befuddled. :?

Ok, I found another one after hours and hours of searching. But this one has the correct back plate. Makes me really really wonder why mine has a Deville backplate.

I know this is an old post, but I bought this amp just a bit after New Dillema got it (I was tired of lugging around a twin reverb). Just wondering if in bumping this up anyone else who might have any info might be able to know what's up with it.
Thanks, any questions, just ask :)

when you say "I bought this amp just a bit after New Dillema got it" are you saying you bought off of New Dillema or is yours another one like it?
How has it been treating you since you bought it?

I bought this exact amp from New Dillema. I was just researching it a bit and found this post. It's been treating me great. I love it. Just the tone I was looking for in a smaller size than a twin.
Now I'm just wondering why the weird anomaly :p

Well, it looks and sounds like you got a rare bird in that it apparently wasn't a common amp to begin with and it's been treating you right.
I like the "Fender Blues Deluxe" plate. Oddly, I would have thought
that Fender would have kept it a bit more simple like "Blues Deluxe"
as they do the "Bassman".
I have a standard tweed BDRI I bought last August. I'm happy with it
so far. Hope it stays that way. I even invested in Blue jewel for the pilot
light. Cheesy? Yes, but makes sense to me. That jewel even gives off
a Black Light affect.
It's important to have a nice night light to keep you company in the dark.

I remember those amps being an exclusive to an online store. Can't remember if it was Musicians Friend, American Musical Supply, or Zzounds.

I too had one just like that, with one exception, the Plate on the back I beleive said Corona, CA instead of Brea if I remember correctly (but I've had a lot of amps since then... It was American made and it was a Blues Junior Deluxe w/reverb, the faceplate said Fender Blues Deluxe and it had an upgraded NOS speaker in it. The other thing I remember is mine had a power switch but lacked a standby switch... That was YEARS ago though probably 1996-7 that I had mine. I ordered it from the internet... however I can't remember what vendor. I always thought that was weird as well, but it sounded GREAT it was just too small for me after a while. Sometimes I wish I still had it for recording... My only thoughts are that they are rare and agree that it must have been only through a specific online merchant?
