Makes no difference. The Deville is basically the same amp with 20 more watts.

This statement tells me you have no experience with these amps.
I have had a HRDX and now own a Blues Deluxe and my best friend had a deville.Between the Deluxe and deville , the the main difference is cabinet size , speaker configuration and wattage. The circuitry is exactly the same .Check it out for yourself .There are minor differences between the hr and the blues deluxe.

The difference is in the sound. You get a fat wall of sound out of the 410 that you don't even get from the 212 much less the deluxe. I've played 5000 seat halls with two daisy-chained 410s and didn't even have to mic them. The deluxe couldn't handle that load. It's better with the additional cab but still not good enough for real shows.

Wow, no mic and 5,000 seats? Do you need a PA system for your vocals or can a crowd hear them too. Must be a pretty quiet crowd. Neil Young uses a 12 watt Tweed Deluxe for stadiums but he has to mic it.

With all due respect and I usually don't agree much with 63 Supro, but I think the only load in this post is what you're shoveling.

I find it hard to believe that for a 5,000 seat show, you don't have a professional sound man doing your bands mix. If you did, you could do the show with a Princeton Reverb on a chair.

The DeVille and Deluxe are in fact identical circuit wise. I also have a HRDlx, and mine has not been very reliable either. Not quite to the point as 63 Supro but it's been in the shop for some of the same problems. I like the statement you made about the solid state rectifier. Tons of amps have them. It's nothing special and just a matter of taste. I prefer the sag and compression of a tube rectifier. Even a couple of the Bogners use them. Usually Blues players like them, but I guess you already know that.

I sure Reinhold Boger would get a bigger kick out of your posts than I am. I too wonder if I'm authorized to buy an amp from his custom shop. This whole thread is pure bull.

When you've played professionally for 5 minutes much less over 40 years then maybe you can talk. Until then you're just another white boy that doesn't know $@!& from shinola. Create your own music and you and your professional sound guy can take turns jerking each other off.

You know, I hesitate to post on any type of Internet board because of the total dickheads that tend to troll these things. This thread is about how awesome I think the HRD 410 is. Like clockwork along come dickheads to tell you how it's not that awesome. From some other posts I've read it seems that they're regular trolls here.

The bottom line is this is a Fender forum and I love these Fender amps. If they don't have anything respectful to say they should start their own threads elsewhere. This is a Fender forum for fans of Fender amps. End of story.

That is a lesson I need to learn. Ignore the knuckleheads and keep the forum for what it was intended to be. It just pisses you off sometimes like these guys just sit and troll waiting for their chance to $@!& on other peoples' threads. When I looked at the guys in question they've spent most of their lives here so what does that tell you? Anyway, love Fender guitars and amps. Always have, always will.

Spare me. I've played professionally for over 25 years. How do you even know I'm white? I'm also 53 years old. Any time somebody disagrees around here your automatically a troll? Give me a break. Just because some people don't agree that the DeVille is the best amp ever means they're wrong?

This last outburst or your just proves how unprofessional and childish you really are. I don't even think a grown man would react that way.
If you don't like my posts, don't read them.

Cheers :D

You know, almost everything you've said sounds made up. A real pro would have some kind of decorum, don't you think?

You owned a custom-built Bogner that cost $8K and yet you think an off-the-rack hunk of junk Deville is the greatest tube amp of all times?

Yeah, right. And I'm Prince.

Watch the language, BTW. This post has already been reported.

SlapChop, Is it me or does he seem to be baiting an argument?

A lot of us don't agree on a lot of things. Tone is subjective, reliability isn't, but we never resort to name calling and what could be construed as a racial slur. Most of us do agree on the Hot Rod series being junk though, usually because we have either owned one or still do.

Take Care

that was entertaining

and Kentuck, you did post the title in the form of a question. Even if you had intended it as a statement, simply posting invites discussion, and in this case a lot of disagreement

happy you're thrilled with it, most of us are thrilled with our stuff

my answer to your question is...nope

read and heard a lot of neg's regarding the Hot Rod Series, of which interestingly the Blues Jr is one. I've an '07 Bj NOS and it's a very sweet amp and I've none of the issues with it that have been reported with earlier Bj's for which there are many discussed mods for, Bill M.s being the first to come to mind.

But for my tastes I do think Fender has produced the best all around amp of all time. The Deluxe Reverb (practically a Twin Reverb cut in half; to me and many, the ultimate in pure raw clean powerful sound). I've a Re-Issue Deluxe Reverb and am thrilled with it, (although I'd trade even up for a Twin Reverb in a heart beat)

I have a 76 Twin Reverb and as much as I love it, it's usually too loud for the places I play now. I used to play large auditoriums, clubs and festivals way back. It's heavy too. The Deluxe Reverb is a bit different from a Twin though. The Twin is 6L6 driven. It's stays way cleaner further up the dial than a DR unless you have the red knob "Evil Twin". 6V6 amps get that really sweet natural distortion and the 6V6's in the DR tend to "bloom" which gives them that gorgeous slight breakup earlier on. My Twin stays clean way up the dial and you need to push it with pedals to get distortion a lower volumes. The Twin is a rock solid reliable amp as is the DR.

Very good point regarding the difference in tubes; my comment was rather vague (I was stumping the DRRI), as I was mostly referring to 22 watts into one 8 ohm 12" being roughly equivelent to 1/2 of 85 watts into two 12" in parallel at 4 ohms.

Curious how long you've had that Twin Reverb, whether you bought it new. (I was a junior in HS in '76)

It don't matter what Shamwow and 63Doopro think. If you think it sounds the best to you, then its the best... to you.
Some folks don't understand the definition of opinion. Truth of the matter most on here should be do more playing and less bloggin'.

I bought it new and it's still a great amp.

Again with the name calling.
I have lots of time. I'm semi-retired and work when I feel like it. I made a good living doing what I love. I was lucky and I have lots of time to play my guitars. But thanks for your concern. Most people don't get that upset if someone disagrees with them. Opinions are just that and vary with taste. You either take them or leave them, or start your own forum where everyone must agree with you .
