I bought this amp about 6 months ago and I love it since the beginning. Recently, I had some problems with it. I started playing and, suddenly, I heard a huge POP and the sound level dropped and the tone changed (It sounded like a solid-state amp). I put it on Standby, turned it off. I turned it back on and it didn't change (still the weird tone).

Today, I started playing (it was back to normal) and my amp was emitting loud noises (louder than my guitar), a bit like that: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PH54cp2ggFk, but they were not continuous (so it's not hum). I put it on standby, turned it off. I put it on again and the noises were still there. I stopped playing and I came to my computer to write this.

EDIT: When I returned in my room, it smelled a bit like something burned.

Any help?

PS: I play with a 2008 stratocaster, I do not play loud (between 2-3), the remote pedal is plugged in, and I play mostly on the clean channel. I have a ibanez tube screamer, a boss chromatic tuner and a boss DD-3 plugged between my guitar and my amp.

PS#2: Sorry for the bad English, I'm from Quebec and my first language is French.

Are you sure you didn't blow a tube?

Nope (well, I think). I know it's not my pedals because I plugged in my other amp and it worked fine. I think it's a cold junction (don't know if that's the right word for ''soudure froide'') because when I touch the tubes, the noises are back.

Guess I'll have to take it to the nearest service center. I was hoping that I wouldn't have to do that because I don't know how long it's going to take before I get it back.

Anyway, thanks for trying to help me.

Yes, it sounds like a tube. Try replacing one at a time.

On dirais que ca viens d'une des lampes. Remplaces une lampe a la fois.
