I'm planning to buy used, so the price difference isn't to much. But still, is it really worth the extra $300 or so for some combined effects and a few extra presets? And also, does anyone know details on the warranty?

either one is OK, but for the CT, make sure firmware 1.3 is installed as well as the tube rattle kit. SE is a great buy too. Check out the manuals and the PC editor at www.generalcybersystems.com these might prove to be very useful to you.

I would definitely get the Cyber-Twin SE instead of the original Cyber-Twin. Johnny already mentioned the tube rattle problem present in the Cyber-Twin. The Cyber-Twin SE doesn't have the tube rattle problem.

The Cyber-Twin SE also features an additional Distortion/Overdrive effect, the Acoustic Scoop effect, the Alienator effect and more effects that the original doesn't have.

I'm not sure which Cyber-Twin demo you've watched but I linked to all 3 parts of the Cyber-Twin SE demo video put out by Fender. In part 1 they talk about the differences between the Cyber-Twin and the Cyber-Twin SE.

I would get the original because it has the RED jewel.

Kidding aside, I have the original. Mine has had tube rattle, but I solved it by changing the tubes. What is the kit that fixes that exactly? Is it just locking tube covers? Mine has them and I still developed rattle and like I said, changing tubes has solved it.

Anyway, good luck with your choice. As long as the amp is in good condition, I wouldn't hesistae with either, although there are benefits with the SE.

First, there was never a firmware upgrade for the original CT, it was a hardware modification. Now there were some original CTs that were shipped that a defective logic chip. I got one of the first CT shipped here in Ohio.

My original ver 1.0 CT experienced volume drops and other strange things, but no tube rattle. Since it was covered under warrenty, Fender sent the parts to my amp tech.

When I got my CT back I could see that a reinforcement bar was installed over the amp section, and a new logic chip was installed. When I turned my CT on, I could see it said ver 1.3 in the info window.

As far as CT vs CT-SE, it depends on what new amp/FX preset one needs. I had created quite a few presets for CT, and really didn't need the new features in the CT-SE, but if anything happened to my CT, I would get a CT-SE. Image

Great pic, Thouston! I like that classic Fender guitar strap on the blue Strat. Haven't seen one of those in a while.

Matt - Thanks, but it's actually Aqua Marine, it looks different depending on the light.

I also enjoy hearing your custom presets for CT-SE. If I ever get one, I plan on using a few :D ,

I'm guessing this is installed over the tubes? Does it make it hard for tube swaps?

No, it just really is a brace that runs along the back of the amp section. I changed the preamp tubes just last year with no problem.

Thanks thouston, I also dig the blues MP3's you have posted from your site. Is that you singing? If it is, you sound a lot like Mr. Jimi Hendrix when you sing. You have a similar vocal delivery to him. I like it!

Yes, that's me, quite a few people tell me I sound like Jimi, but I don't  .

Here's a link to a song on our first CD 'Hidden Love' http://soundclick.com/share?songid=7673626, this is live (but shorten version), I'm wireless, and I'm using my CT with a custom preset.

That sounds good man! I love the way your Strat sounds with your preset there. What year and model Strat are you playing on that cut?

People are always asking me who I sound like when I sing, I just tell them "I sound like me!" Comparisons are inevitable though.
