hey guys, just got myself a bassman amp.
awesome tones.
couple of questions.
tested tone settings for blues with some natural overdrive?
with blues driver pedal?
with input 1 and 2 parralel conections? eq?
any sugestions on pedals?
does the amp come with pedals?mine did, however think its wrong...
has channel and drive/more drive. is that correct?

Your Bassman came with an effects pedal? Or do you mean a footswitch?

The 59 Bassman does not come with pedals. The pedal you describe is from a hotrod deluxe or deville. The Bassman amp has 2 channels ,normal and bright. As far as pedals, i like the TS9 tubescreamer with mine, the Bluesdriver colors the tone too much.

Yes , Ibanez. Why would you buy a 59 Bassman and want it to sound like a deluxe reverb? Why not just buy a deluxe reverb. The tweed line of amps are known for sweet overdrive sounds and the blackface sound is known more for the clean and outstanding reverb. :?

Ok, here is what you do. purchase the '63 Reverb Tank. this was designed for older tweed amps that lack reverb units built in, so it was designed as a "Head" of sorts for tweed amps. here is a link to it:

http://www.guitarcenter.com/Fender-Vint ... 1145372.gc

that will give you reverb like in a blackface.

next, just use a TS9. there you go, instantly perfect overdrive tone.

I use all of that with my '52 and my strats, and it is pure heaven!

hey guys, giving a little follow up.
been experimenting since friday.
friday i loved the idea of having a tube amp, today i appreciate it.
plugged in my boss blues driver and dime bag wah pedal.
WOW  . with the wah pedal on and in down position, my notes sounded clear, not nasal the way it did with my solid state amps.
i can feel and hear my playing up a notch.
i put my eq at 12 and presece at 3, vol 3.

man , I got one recently, really happy with it, one tip i found was plugging a pach cable between the normal and bright channels and then plugging your guitar into the free bright channel, also I have a a keeley modded blues driver, but i wouldnt go past a BK Butler Tube Driver, the thing has a tube in it, makes me salivate everytime i use it, also totally worth getting the bias knob option, but they arent cheap.

Have fun
