Post subject: talking the back cover off the back of an amp is it harmful?

I just took off my back cover on my fender fm 65 dsp and i get a lot better tone is this going to effect my amp in the long run i usually have gigs that i need my amp for and usually the volume is on 7 i dont want to blow up the speaker or anything with the back cover off.

Won't hurt it at all.

If I am remembering this correctly an open back amp/cab is better for small venues (home included) and a closed back for larger venues.
