I'm not quite sure I understand...is Fender saying that the DRRI tube sockets are mounted to a circuitboard?

I'll try and post a pic or two of the DRRI I just had on my bench...a picture is worth a thousand words...

first pic is the rectifier and power tube sockets...the lower pic shows that all the tubes are actually fixed to the chassis..rectifier, power tubes and preamp tubes.

A picture is worth a thousand words. In my first e-mail to Fender they said that - All of the deluxxe amps are on circuit boards, the only Deluxe model that isn’t, is the 57 Deluxe tweed deluxe. However after reading your post I told them what you had said it was then that they issued an apology and said that the tubes on the DRRI are not mounted on a PC Board.

Fender should be paying you because based on thier first response I was going to remove the DRRI from consideration based on the tubes being on the PCB and the new higher prices. But thanks to you I am pretty sure I will be buying the DRRI. I'll try to find a used one that is still under warranty otherwise I may have to buy a new one.

Well, we're all human and do make the occasional mistake...I just wanted you to know beyond a shadow of a doubt that the DRRI's tubes were mounted to the chassis. I am an amp tech (Fender Certified even 8) ) and have seen enough Fenders in my day to know a little bit about them...honestly, I'm not a true blue "anal" expert on them...I just fix them and move them out....I don't usually have time to googoo-gaga over them, although I had an almost showroom condition 65 Deluxe Reverb on my bench tonight, doing a recap/retube/plate resistor thing on it and it sounded shaweet when I was done...probably my favorite amp is the original BF 65 Deluxe Reverb. I own a 65 BF Bandmaster that's pretty sweet too...so many amps, so little time...

I thought so. That's why you pay a premium for the reissues. I just wish they used Mallory or Sprague caps.
For sure! I could deal with the caps just wish it had good iron in there.
