Hey, I am having a little trouble deciding what amp I should get next. I currently own a Fender Deluxe Player Strat(Rosewood, 3 Tone Sunburst) Here are my options
Fender Hot Rod Deluxe
Fender Blues Junior
Peavey Valveking 112
Fender Blues Junior(NOS)
I mostly play blues/jazz, and I occasionally play rock. Right now I am just playing in a room, however within a year, I will be joining a band. I understand that if I get a lower wattage amp, I can mike it, but what about rehearsals? I do not want a restricted drummer. Which would be better for my situation. Thanks!

You should consider the Hot Rod Deluxe. One 12" 50 watt speaker w/the amp rated @ 40 watts should be plenty under any playing enviroment. Not to loud for your crib, loud enough when you rehearse & play small venues. Don't count on having your amp miked at different gigs. I currently have the Hot Rod Deville 410. Awesome amp. Best of both worlds. The Hot Rod Deluxe would be a good selection for your first amp. A wise investment to compliment your various tones & sounds. Good luck. Have fun & be patient.

I would seriously consider a Deluxe Reverb Reissue. It's a much more versatile, reliable and better sounding amp. It has 2 real channels with EQ and works great with pedals. I breaks up nicely too. With my HRDlx the first thing I had to do was dump the stock tubes because the drive channels were unusable. The stock speaker isn't that great either and mine has given me nothing but trouble. If you're planning to gig, get the Deluxe Reverb. You can even find them used for less than a HRDlx. 40 watts is not that much louder than 22 and most of the HRDlx's volume peters out by the time you turn it half way up.

I have the Blues Jr NOS and I really like: light weight and good looks, with great tone for my Gibson electrics.

I also have a Jazzmaster Ultralight but it's a bit pricier. It's a better amp than the BJ, but the tweed Junior looks good when I play my blonde 335 in church.

I also have a Band-Master VM, and it's another great sounding Fender. You might consider the Deluxe VM if you want chorus and delay to add to reverb.
