The Cyber Twin breaks conservative and conventional ideas of what a guitar amp is. It is modern, different, wildly musical, and a whole lot better than most amps out there. It might be too revolutionary, certainly not boring, with it's own sounds, which I personally find better sounding than most of the one-dimensional amps out there.

I'm not the only one who thinks this amp is a revolution, see the article in EE Times (that's short for Electrical Engineering Times) at http://www.eetimes.com/story/OEG20010604S0109 for more "inside" info.

The real heros are both the engineering AND the management team (that stuck by the engineering team) who made this amp a reality. I for one, am grateful Fender gave us the Cyber Twin. Many thanks from a delighted customer.

If you are a Cyber Twin owner or enthusiast, I would encourage you to make yourself heard!

Ciao,
Johnny.

I'm in total agreement Johnny. I'll read that site you posted. Back when the orginal CT was put out, it was a hard desicion to spend those kind of bucks on an amp. Wanting one was easy. Committing to buy one was another story, to the tune of 1,200 bucks at the time. But the allure of this amp for me was huge, both for stage and even more so in my case- the studio. It has exceled in both cases. It is a marvel in the studio. I haven't needed to use amp sims and software at all. I have them, but they don't stack up to what you can dial in on the CT. And the connectivity makes this amp so versitle. I've done it all- mic'd, digital, XLR both mono and stereo. It's an octopus! And a big thing about this amp is it's ruggedness. Over the years, I've had it bouncing around in vehicles for gigs. Stored in my trunk in extreme cold weather at times, when I was too exhausted to bring it in after a long hard gig- which I don't do any longer. I always bring this baby in. But through all of the wear and tear of the road, it ALWAYS fires right up and gives me all. Most of my fellow guitar players bounce around from amp to amp searching for something, or for something different. I always have that something and something different in my cybertwin. I think it's been eight years now, and I haven't needed another amp since the day I got it home. And I don't plan on retiring it ever. My knobs still fly, my speakers still kick, I still crank over the top of any band I have to, and the effects still sound as great as ever- not shlock, but first rate as always. Everyone has those certain pieces of gear that were a tremendously good desicion to buy. The cybertwin remains one of my best purchases, and I've got a studio full of gear. And all these years later, I still haven't tapped into the depths this amp can go. That says a LOT for the designers of this great amp.

One thing is for sure- I'm glad I got mine!

Dan

Well, this is at least my third post on the Fender forum about the Cyber-Twin. I am well on my way to being an old coot. Born in 1951, I cut my teeth on pawn-shop tweeds and tolex Fender amps of various colors. I still have a few of those beasties, and next to my family are among my most cherished possessions. I am not an elitist, but always listened to solid state and digital equipment with a critical ear. I was skeptical when I heard that the Cyber-Twin was being released. The name implied a reaction to Line 6, Johnson, and other modeling amps which had not interested me beyond their novelty . After reading the specs, marketing material, and reviews for the CT, I was impressed with the methodology employed and eager to try one, but still a bit skeptical that the promotional hype was better than the product. I went to a couple of different music stores to audition the CT. Went back again, and again. And again. I finally bought my CT in Sept. 2001 and have played it practically every day since. I consider it to be the most profoundly creative musical instrument developed
in recent history. I too extend my regards and sincere appreciation to Fender for their vision and commitment in bringing the CT to the market. I hope Fender continues to evolve this technology, and give us another update of the Cyber-Twin with even more specific parameters available to configure.

What can I say other than I LOVE the Cyber-Twin SE. I've used it on many of my recordings, some outside studio work and tons of live shows. It doesn't just sound fantastic, it's really held up well too.

You've got to love a piece of equipment with this kind of versatility that can take the rigors of the road as well.

I was doing a studio session a couple weeks ago and the producer hadn't heard a Cyber-Twin SE before. He mic'ed the speakers with a couple AKG C 414, a couple SM57's and hooked up the XLR outs from the back of the amp.

He kept raving about how incredible the Cyber-Twin SE sounded through every mic as well as the XLR outs. Needless to say, by the end of the session he was a big fan of the amp.

Two thumbs up for the Cyber-Twin SE! Don't give up on it Fender!!

Honestly...I'm spoiled.....I have not had many amps.....and i don't think i will ever want another.....
I mean, if it can't allow complete control over at least 120 FENDER-style tones......peel the paint with the volume.....awesome cleans/nasty growls or roll around on nice little wheels....i don't want it!

Yeah....my little S/E, its the $@!&!
