I just got this amp new (Frontman 65R) and it's pretty much perfect in every way, except for a couple of things.

When I turn up the reverb control, the more I turn it up, the more static that occurs. Does anyone have a tip or reason for this?

Also, when I try to adjust each volume control, there's a volume spike at a certain poin. On the normal channel, between 1 and 1.5 does mostly nothing, and from 1.5 to about 1.7, the volume spikes. On the drive channel, mostly nothing happens between 1 and 1.9, and it spikes from 1.9 to 2.1, making it really hard to balance or turn it down a bit when someone can't take anymore noise. Does anyone have a tip or reason for this, either?

Finally, I can't decide between input 1 and input 2. For using it at a bedroom level (about 2 for volume) and playing mostly Led-Zeppelin and Aerosmith style rock, which input would be better?

Reverb is prone to feedback and static. If it's a spring reverb, the amp's own noise can cause the reverb unit to feed back. I have Peavey Bandit 65 with an onboard spring reverb, and if the amp is cranked the reverb has to be lowered. This is particularly noticeable if the amp is set dirty.

That really depends. A lot of people will tell you that input 1, which is typicaly a bit brighter, makes humbuckers shine, while the tamer input 2 will bring out the best in single-coil guitars. Really though, it depends on what you like. There are no rules, my friend -- just see what sounds good.
