Hey all - I picked up one of these Eighty Five amps for practically nothing
(I swapped an Ibanez TS-9DX for it !!)
last year, and it's a beauty. BUT, there's no signal from the preamp out. Now, before I start messing around, I'd like to find out as much as I can, but I can't find anything online, even here on Fender.com, aside from the fact that everyone wants to share the knowledge that Jonny Radiohead uses one. Great.

Does anyone have a schematic for this amp, or any helpful info?

Thanks in advance

That's a tough schematic to find. I see there are several books that claim to have it on ebay. here is link
http://shop.ebay.com/items/fender+schem ... cs&mscbg=1
Sorry I could not help with a free one maybe someone else can. Good luck! :)

Hey man. Welcome to the club. :D I have 2 of these myself.

I gig with them regularly. Love 'em..

Couldn't find a schematic online either. You might want to try taking a pic of the inside and posting it. Maybe then someone can help you troubleshoot it just by looking at the pic.

I found this when I was trying to find info on the Eighty-Five I picked up a few months ago. There seems to have been several versions, 85, Deluxe 85, Eighty-Five, etc and either 10" or 12" speaker models. http://www.ssguitar.com/index.php?topic=1040.0

I bought mine as a back up for my Blues Jr and after replacing a couple jacks, it works great.

>>>>>>>>Belated thanks - another question - do you run these together, like in stereo? I love (LOVE) the sound, but really need more power. I have a 2x12 cab that I hooked up to it, and I got a lot more bottom end (which is totally not what I'm looking for), but no real volume increase. So I guess my question in - If I want to continue running this amp but move more air, do i need (A) another identical amp? or (B) an external piece of hardware to drive my speaker cab?? Anyone got experience with this?? Thanks

No, I actually sold one of them to our other guitar player. He now uses it live. What I do run in stereo is a Roland JC-50 with the Studio 85. Talk about awesome. I get the nice Bass tones of the JC-50 along with the mids and highs of the Studio 85. When those 2 are blended together, it's really nice.

I haven't really had a problem with how loud they are. Most places I play are either small, or mic them anyway. It's rare for me to ever push it past 5 live. For practicing, even at about 7 it cut's through the whole band just fine.

As far as getting more power out of it, I wouldn't want to steer you wrong. I just haven't had to do it. If I feel like I need more power like playing outside without mic'ing, then I have a HRDV 410 for that. So I really don't have an answer for you. Maybe one of the more knowledgeable amp pros on here can chime in on that.

Page 16 of this .pdf is the schematic for the Studio 85. I don't know how it was acquired as there is a proprietary notice on the print and I assume no liability in sharing the link. I just found it doing a Google search.

Thanks for the replies guys - Shredd6, I like the sound of your setup - one of the first amps I ever used was a JC120, and I never really got over it. I've got my eye on a JC77 at the moment, needs work, but I reckon it'll be worth it.

Also, @ VT Blackstrat -Thanks for the schematic, you've got no idea how long I've been looking for this !!

okay, back again - this time I want toask - What's the best way to run a pair of amps (EightyFive and Deluxe 112+) together ? The last pedal on my chain has 2 outs, left and right, so this would seem the obvious way, but I'm wondering if theres some trick I should use?
