Make sure the Deville has no issues. Good sounding amp. You won't have the gain of the Peavey. I would keep the Peavey if you're into Metal. On the money end, I think it's about even up for just the head.
I'd be a little concerned about the Hot Rod series reliability issues if your really hard on an amp and gig all the time.

The Peavey head is maybe $200than the HRD is new but the 4x10 is a great amp. If your able to check the quality of the HRD it's not a bad trade, different style definitely.

If you can pull the rear panel on the the Hot Rod and look for the 470 ohm 5W cement resistors I believe they are R78 and R79 off the top of my head. Look for heat damage on the board. These two resistors can cause a ton of problems. Check this site for other things to look out for.

Well, I made the trade and I cant begin to tell you how happy I am with this amp.
I didn't think it was possible but it puts my Mesa f-50's clean channel to bed with no supper.
Oh, and why does this 60 watt amp sound louder than my 120 watt 6505, I cant turn it up past 3 without getting insecure with the felling the whole neighborhood is listening.

Congratulations. 4x10, better than 2x12.

Fender uses a linear pots instead of an audio taper pots. This is done so you will think the amp is more powerful than it is. Most of the volume increase occurs between 1 and 4 on the dial, but really doesn't get much louder after that. It's somewhat of a marketing ploy. Hot Rod get it? It annoys me a little with my HRDlx to the point where I use a volume pedal and pretty much just crank the map to control it.
