I won one a few months ago and I've been using it all the time since. I play it at anywhere from bedroom volumes to outdoor gig volumes. As with any tube amp, it sounds better and better the louder it gets, but on the other hand the low volumes sound great to begin with. The dirty channel can get very quiet and still sound good, and the clean channel also sounds good and crystal clear at low volumes. The clean channel gets down to a point right at bedroom levels. It's a little louder than the dirty channel. I can't really compare it to the Vox amp you're talking about though, because I haven't played through one.

Cheers Texas Guitar Slinger, I'll buy a VM as soon as i see one , I've not seen one yet here in the United Kingdom. But it looks like the old British Vox is history

I like those Valvetronix amps. I've got an AD30VT I use for practice. I think its a good sounding amp and it does get loud. Close approximation of the amp sounds, but nothing like the cranked real thing. At 26 pounds, it's easy to carry around.
