Hi guys, so i recently bought a SCXD last friday and for the last couple days, ive been getting some rattling sounds coming from the back of the amp.. it happens when i play certain notes. I play the certain notes as i look at the back of the amp and i cant really tell if its coming from the chassis inside or the tubes. I did a search on the forum and saw a similar problem, but it dealt with a loose pilot light. Can anybody help me out here? Should i switch out all the tubes? Should i take back the amp?

My new Blues Deluxe got tube rattle after two weeks. It was really really bad but only occurred around three semitones on the guitar. It quickly got worse, then I tried tapping the pre-amp tubes and found that V2 was completely buggered and so swopped in a tube I had from an older amp. It improved the situation so I bought new tubes for the preamp positions and the problem is now solved. ... I hope!

I don't know the valves in your new amp but I bet at least one of them is dodgy and needs replacing. You could take it in to your dealer for them to swop in a replacement and see if that cures the problem, or buy one to try yourself. You'll need replacements eventually one day anyway.

Shame that you can buy a brand new amp that has faulty tubes. Will Fender reimburse us for them if we post the dead ones off to Fender HQ?
