Hard to say, but I am more of an amp guy personally. I have bought several amps in my 25 years of playing and only three electric guitars. My experience is that a guitar through the same amp gives you a slightly defferent sound independent of that guitar, but the same overall tone. But a new amp can completely change your tone and give you a new interest in the guitars you already own. A new guitar just makes you ignore your old guitars for awhile  To me, a new amp will give you three times the fun of a new guitar, because you will want to experiment with all three of your guitars. A new guitar will only make you want to experiment with the new one, because you already know how your other guitars sound through your current amp.

Hard to say which would be best for you. But getting new equipment is always a good idea, especially when you are finding yourself bored of practicing. New stuff renews you interest when things start to get dull

thanks for all of the responses. my birthday is next weekend and i have decided to get a guitar. i mostly decided against the amp because i thought i had it narrowed down to the deluxe reverb or the vibrolux but then i played a blues deluxe and a hot rod deluxe and really liked them. so i will go with the guitar now which will give me a while to think about my next amp purchase.

thanks again.

Deluxe Reverb Reissue. If you're talking the Custom Vibrolux, all the ones I've tried out have excessively loud hiss and has been a deal breaker for me. I returned one and tried a few others at different stores too.

If you were talking a nice semi hollow body or Humbucker guitar, I'd say go for a different flavor. You already have the Fender thing covered. I have an Ibanez AS73 that is an amazing guitar. I picked it up used for 200 bucks and I love the way it plays and sounds. You can upgrade the pups and have a poor mans ES335.

go for the axe man because your amp that you have is part of your tone and your set with that and depending how much gigging that ur doing do you need to have another amp on standby incase ur main amp goes out, other than that build ur guitar collection.
