I've had my bassman reissue about 2 weeks and i'm simply astonished at the warm tones coming out of the thing, plugged in a electro harmonix holy grail plus reverb unit, and a butler tube driver, Arrrgh awesome.I just ordered a new set of gold pin JJ tubes from eurotubes, looking forward to that one let me tell you!
I found a Bassman rebuild Kit that replaces the PC board with new point to point circuit board, and a few other things, info here:

http://www.torresengineering.com/4in1basrebki.html

This comes to roughly $500 Aussie dollars...is this a waste of money or worth the effort?

Cheers

Ask the guys at www.thefenderforum.com about Torres. Not very well liked there. Those guys are really technical and build many of their own amps.

No Problem. If you love the amp, leave it alone. I borrow a friends 59 Bassman RI that is around 15 years old and rock solid. It is his main gigging amp and he uses it 3 or 4 days a week.

I've done a mod once from Torres and I had no issue. Instructions were clear and no parts were missing. Never had to deal with their help line. Was pleasantly surprised by the upgrade.

Just thought I would mention my take on Torres.

I've never had any experience with Torres. That's why I directed him there. Before modding anything, I always do a lot of research. The guys at thefenderforum.com are a great bunch of people. Very knowledgeable about modding and amp building as well as guitar repair too.
