I got a blonde 1x12 super-sonic in a trade a few weeks ago.
The more I dig in, the more tonal options I find.

I found the Greg K. u-tube video and he Rocked the amp as usual.

I still find myself wondering how so much sound comes from one 12" speaker, has anyone tried an extension cab with theirs yet ???

Any other pros using the S/S out in the real world ?

I love mine!
I've been giging/recording with it for the past year. (gets 40+/- hours of play on it per month).
I did however, make a few tweaks.
I swaped the V2 (clean channel) with a tung sol 12AX7 reissue. It gives a little more balls to the vibrolux more balance & clarity to the bassman.
I also put a JAN Phillis 5751 in V3 (Burn channel). To tame the gain a little bit and a add some crunch.
I've tried a few knob combinations, these are mine now.
Clean: Bass 6 - Treble 4
Burn: Gain1 6ish - Gain2 4ish (although i do sometimes reverse those for a different feel)
Mids 7ish - Bass 6ish - Treble 4ish
Reverb hovers over 4, but live i need to put it done not to overdrive it.
Also use a sustain/compressor and an old JAN italian Super Cry Baby.
With us playing more and more i've been considering buying a CAB but i really don't know if it's actually worth it. (Although the super sonic 2x12 cab would be SWEET). Most venues have some pretty good sound gear and make my amp sound huge. Any thoughts on that would be awesome!?

You could add a 112 cab. That is what I have with my HR DLX. Sounds great. Avatar

Thanks guys

I've been all over the borad on it so far and have yet to find a bad tone setting.

My search for an extension cab started about a day after i got it.

I have a nice grab bag of NOS tubes at home, I really have not felt the need to swap any yet.

A 5751 in v-3 might be fun to try.

This amp sounds best with some volume for sure (my wife & Neighbors are thrilled).

I've had a Supersonic combo for about a year and I dig it. Have not gigged with it any yet, it sits in my studio. I have played it through a 1x12 extension cab and it makes it bigger sounding, but not a whole lot louder. It's a very loud amp as it is. I've experimented some with lower gain preamp tubes to reduce the volume. Once you get the Vibrolux channel over 2, the highs roll off and it's not quite as bright.

There are lots of good sounds in the Burn channel. Very versatile amp, and not a back breaker. I sold my Twin Reverb RI, and then I ran across the Supersonic by chance and got a good deal on it. Although the Twin is the best clean sound in the world, it weighs a metric ton. With the Supersonic you don't even need any pedals, except maybe a delay.

The only thing I wish it had was a mid control on the Vintage channel. I'm not a fan of just bass\treble.

The more I play it the more I love this amp.

I am thinking about a beam blocker or fizzy lifter to mellow the ice pick.

anyone else try these ???
