Recently got this 2003 model, i think, anyway, i really like the tone, but on most of the high gain presets, i havent tweaked them yet, there is a very bad hum, i run direct to pa, its not a ground loop, tried many different cables, guitars, power cables, etc. Does it on headphones too.
I replaced the tubes with new tung sol,s and didnt make any difference.
Turning down the gain , volume, trim, etc, doesnt help at all. It does it on the tube and solid state stacks. But the crunch and cleans are sweet.
Dont know what else to try, any ideas anyone?

A properly grounded outlet would be awesome

using properly ground power plugs is strongly recommended but that may not be the source of your problem. check your guitar cable, it maybe a problem, make sure it is a good shielded cable. guitar maybe a problem as well - hum pickup. Even guitars have a "hot side" and a "ground side" - i hope your guitar wiring is ok.

now the deeper stuff:
1. cyber twin head power supply problems:
1a. filter capacitors worn out (for what ever reason)
1b. voltage regulator problem
1c. filter capacitors worn out, open circuit, etc...
2 inside the cyber twin, other things:
2a.. shields, shielding cables, etc... busted, loose, etc...
2b. ground loop has been created somewhere due to a loose connection, or a short - it has to be hunted down
well, that's top of my list of things i would look at.

good luck, hope it something really obvious and simple.

ciao,
johnny.

Thanks for the reply JS.

All grouds checked ok with tester, have tried many high qua;ity cables, and all my guitars are ok, however my LP 25/50 is the quietest of the bunch. Sounds like a trip to the shop for me. But im really digging the tones in this thing, just can use it live like it is.
