I find the normal channel of the Custom Vibrolux a bit dark and "bland", as if it's just lacking a richness that the bright channel has.

I ran a Les Paul with Duncan 59's through it, and the breakup in the normal channel was farty and didn't sound like "vintage breakup" at all.

I always have the treble cranked up and the bass rolled down just to keep it from being muddy. The treble is set around 7, bass around 3.

Is this an "issue" with all CVRs or is it just my amp? Perhaps a tube change would fix the issue? Or is it more relating to the speakers?

Any help is appreciated :)

your right the normal channel is not a good guitar channel, its a better mic or keyboard channel, the bright channel is the gutiar channel, I had a custom vibralux, it has lot versitality as base amp, or a small PA amp.

No kidding! If I dial it just right, single coils sound OKAY through it.

input 2 is recommended for humbuckers, see if you like that better.

I typically run my humbucker guitars into Channel 2, it just feels like Channel 1 is almost unusable, ya know?
