Ok I'm looking for a new amp. I want something that's got that a warm tube tone (I hvae a 65 Dlx Rvrb Reissue) that has a lot of head room ( I'll get overdirve/distortion form pedals). Saying all that I would like something that I can play anything form soft mellow blues to Ozzy. Now here's the kicker. I want something that's I can get good tone form without blowing my ear drums or waking the dead. I've had a SCXD and loved it BUT the small speaker and it's really not ballsy enough. I've also had a Hot Rod Devill 212 and didn't really care for it. Maybe something on the upper end side of things is what I need. Sorry for the long rant. Any advice would be great!

Vox AC15, Marshall 1974X 18W 1x12, or an Orange Tiny Terror. You could always get an extension cabinet. The Tiny Terror can go down to 7 watts. You can turn down the wattage on the Egnator Rebel 20 too or get an attenuator for the DRRI.

There's a lot of choices.

I've checked out the Orange Tiny Terror and the Egnator and liked them both. I like the fact that they have the ability to turn down the wattage at will! Good luck my friend! If you go with another Dr. Z amps sell a real nice attenuator! 8)

Try the Fender Twin or Twin Reverb. This amp can be very diverse especially if you are using some effect pedals to generate different modes of sound from Gospel, Jazz, Blues and even to Rock.

You can't go wrong with a Cyber-Twin. Don't let the fact they are not tube powered stop you, these amps have great tone! There is definitely tweaking that needs to be done to get the sounds you want. I use mine all the time at home without disturbing the neighbors. I've made a few patches that give me great tones both at low and higher volumes.

Do you want more headroom than your DRRI? Or is it like you said, you just want to buy a new amp? One of my friends just got a Dr. Z Carmen Ghia head and it sounds great! 18 watts, all tube, no reverb, one volume one tone control.

I love my Blackheart...I can't believe how good those little suckers sound for the price, and how well they are put together. I got it as an interim amp until I could afford something a little higher end, but have felt no need to upgrade.

I put my Hafler T3 in front of it, and I can dial in almost anything.
