Hey, I was thinking of buying either a Fender Blues Junior or a Hot Rod Deluxe. I play blues, and I am not currently in a a band, but I will be in a year or two. I was wondering which amp would be better for my situation. I know that the Hot Rod Deluxe is more of a pain lugging around, but I do not mind that, since I am getting 40W of Tube Power .I have a Fender deluxe player strat 3 tone sunburst with a Rosewood Fretboard. Thanks!

Both are descent amps. The blues jr is 15 watts, so if you play with a drummer that plays loud you will want mic it.The HR is really loud and the volume is kind of touchy. It doesnt make the best home playing amp,if you know what i mean. But it will cut thru any mix.

Hello asyal14,

2 years is a ways away,
get the blues jr and if you need to
mic it for the band or trade up,
jr's hold their value pretty well.

Practice-Practice-Practice

Cheers.

I've been playing for about 4 years now, I mainly play old school blues and old style country. I have a blues junior and LOVE IT, I also have a 65 twin reverb. I find that I seem to gravitate towards my blues junior more, not that there's anything wrong with the 65 twin, it is really really loud. I'm not a gigging musician (not yet anyway), looking back, quite honestly, the purchase of the twin was a mistake for my situation - too big and too much amp for me. Don't make the same mistake I did. With that in mind, I don't think you can go wrong with the blues junior, the 15 watts is mighty strong. My strat and teles sound amazing through it as well. I don't use any effect pedals either, I plug right into it.
Good Luck - hope this helps.
