This Amp is from 1988-89.
I'm looking for sugestions to get rid of unwanted amp hum.
I try to plug into a well grounded wall outlet, but it doesn't help much

There are various reasons that may be causing the hum (interference, AC issues, etc..)

EB Tech's Hum Eliminator will !@$ it in the bud!

I Have had hum with a number of different model amps.
Tried being sure the outlet was properly wired, etc.
Found that by using a "Ground Lifter" plug adapter wiped out all the hum.
They can be had at any hardware store for about 79 cents.
Hope it works for you.
This will work if you are getting AC line hum and probably won't do anything if the hum is from an internal problem with the amp.
Worht a few cents to try, though.

Are you suggesting to use the 3 prongs to the 2 prongs adapter and bypass the ground?

Shouldnt it be a temporary solution? I mean you could get a pretty bad shock just by touching metal parts of the amp if not grounded.

All I can attest to is that it has worked for me, without any issues, for a few years.

No doubt, I just read about this somewhere else as a temporary fix. I have mine grounded and I still get shocked every once in a while. Shi77y wiring of the house.
