I bought this amp used, and I have a few questions.

1. How can I tell when the amp was manufactured? The quality assurance sticker inside the cabinet has only one letter on it, and it is a big "W" that takes up both lines. Click the picture to see the full size image:

2. Where is the serial number located? I thought the serial number was supposed to be on the chrome plate on the back of the amp, but there is no serial number on the plate. A good bit of the print and such that was on the back plate has rubbed off. I tried to get a picture, but had trouble getting it to turn out. Click the picture to see the full size image.

3. Should there be a wire screwed into the back of the panel that covers the amp's circuit board and tubes? It looks like a ground wire, but I was just curious as to whether or not this is how it is supposed to be. Click the picture to see the full size image:

Thanks!

The green wire is a ground wire and belongs there.
Where did you get the amp? Does the serial # look like it was removed on purpose?

I bought it from a guy on craigslist. How many numbers should the serial number be? There is a white sticker on the chrome backplate with a 4 digit number on it. Is that the serial number? I was expecting a longer number like my strat.

The Serial Number for these newer amps are the AA number stamped in the upper left corner of the chrome control panel.
What are your thoughts on this newer version and do you really like this amp?

The date of manufacture should be on the tube chart.
