Yo!
Hey, I was told about an old Fender amp called a Blues Baby... I've never heard of one and was wondering if anyone, especially anyone from the Fender Company, could tell me about it and where I might look at a schematic and pictures of this gem...

Thanks in advance for your time and consideration...

You must be talking about the Fender Blues Junior.

Steve,
I don't think so...but I'll check. The guy who told me about this is very knowledgable about this kind of thing... It's spposed to be an old Fender amp... Good for distortion work...
I wish I could get a reply from a Fender officianado, you know someone from the company itself... I have the schematics for the Blues Junior...

signed up for the forum to resurrect this old post.

I had the chance to play on a Blues Baby at my local SamAsh. it's a tiny little tube amp (about the size of a 20" computer monitor) but MAN did it drive HARD LOUD and CLEAR!

unfortunately I was there to look at guitars, not a new amp, but I demo'd a few fenders and a few gibsons on it.

to me it seemed like the perfect amp for those of us who practice in an apartment, i'll note that the volume knob turned up gradual, there was no sudden burst of sound from 0-1, and no lack of drive or sound at low volume. but it was still capable of turning heads from the other side of the store. it sounded much much bigger than it was.

price tagged at $449. if I had the funds for amp and guitar, I would have taken it home without any remorse. i've been looking for one ever since, that's how I found this thread. I will not hesitate next time I see one.

I don't know what you think you played but there is no such Fender amp as a "Blues Baby". There is a "Blues Jr.", a "Blues Deluxe"/"Blues Deluxe Reissue", and a "Blues Deville"/"Blues Deville Reissue" but no "Blues Baby".

I'd be willing to bet that this costs more than $450, even used:

See my post immediately before yours.

"B.B." supposedly stood for "Blues Boy".

I wonder if the OP was referring to the Limited Edition HRDlx "Bluesman" that was out a couple of years ago?

Do you mean the OP from 5 years ago or the OP from tonight?

Fender makes these "Limited Addition" amps all the time. The only difference between them and the base amp is the cabinet covering (different color Tolex, Tweed, etc.) and a different speaker. The actual amp and everything else is unchanged.

Of course not, because they don't exist.

if I had the means to prove otherwise I would. I'm no expert on fender amps but I can tell you:
*It was labeled on the contol panel "Blues Baby", "Fender" on the front
*it in no way resembled either of the photos above, other than looking like a character fender blues amp.
*wrapped in black with black knobs on silver panel. volume/drive/2 or 3 band eq/reverb
*small enough to only house an 8 or 10 inch speaker. it was smaller than the 1x12 blues junior sitting behind it.

I'm not really intent on convincing anyone of it's existence or agruing about it. I would really just like to help the OP or especially myself locate another one. I'm glad to know there are atleast 3 people in the world that have heard of this fabled monster, it gives me hope.
