Hello,

I bought a SCXD last december.
Very nice little amp, especialy with an Eminence Ragin Cajun in it.
I used it on several gigs and it was incredibly loud and good sounding.

But:
I have now a bad BZZZZZ when the amp is on without any guitar plugged and volume at 0.
With the guitar plugged, The BZZZZ becomes an hiss and I hear several other noises when I play.
It comes and goes.
I have lost 50% of loudness.

I tried to change the pre tube, but noway.I think that the power tubes are already gone, could it be so ?.

Within about 4 months of purchasing my DRRI, I've had to replace the rectifier tube(it started blowing fuses as soon as I turned it on), 4 12AX7's(One was microphonic just a few days after getting it home!), and the 6V6 power tubes(just like the rectifier tube, it blew the fuse when it powered up). I don't know how to bias a DRRI, so I took it to a reputable tech for the 6V6's. So, within 4 months I had replaced almost every tube because of tube failure. Since then, I've had absolutly zero problems with it, and it's the best sounding amp I've ever had. No regrets, it's just very frustrating to have a brand new amp in the repair shop. If you're having problems with tubes, I suggest you just go ahead and replace all of them with some from a reputable dealer.

These SCXD,s seem to be affected very much by there surroundings. To close to a TV or floresent lights or other eletronics seem to make them very noisiey.

Good it seems to have self corrected :D

Did you get spare tubes ?
With a tube amp it is always a good idea to have a spare for each tube that might go nuts.
They can last years, or days , or even come bad from the dealer, luck of the draw.
