I have a Fender Princeton Reverb 65 reissue that I purchased a little over month ago and I am having issues with the low end tone of the amp. It seems to get real muddy when I throw any kind of overdrive or distortion in front of the amp... I have played with the settings on the amp and my pedal to clean it up as much as possible, but it is still a little rubbery when I play anything on the low e. I am running a Music Man Axis through a HBE Big D pedal and my typical settings on the amp are Vol 2.5, Treb 6, Bass 4, Rev 3.5, Speed 2 and Intensity 1.5 ish. I have always had 2x12 cabs (5150 combo etc) and am wondering if I am just trying to push the 10 inch speaker too much. (Im looking for the classic Zeppelin tone) I bought the Princeton to play at home and at a lower volume... will an extension cab clean this up??? if so, what is the best size for the amp.
