I want to use my POD xt with my 65R and wonder which input to use. I figure input 2, but what about the power in input? Which would be better?

If you want to be able to use either of the channels of the amp, with the tone controls and reverb, then you want to go into Input 2 (Input 1 would be too sensitive).

If you go in the Power In input, you will be not using the pre-amp and reverb of the amp - only the power section. All tone selection and effects must be done in the PODxt. Be careful with the output levels of the PODxt.

If you have the Version 3 manual for the PODxt, see pages 3.9 thru 3.12 - it gives some advice about what you should do with amps and such.

If you have the Version 2 manual, see section 3 - Getting Set Up

Have fun,

I suppose that you've done that by now; how does it sound?

I used input 2 and I'm getting great tone. I'm not setting the POD output very high, just using the clean channel on the amp, tones set to 0. I've used both my Mex Tele with vintage noiseless pups and a PRS Santana and am very happy with the sound. The 65R has plenty of volume for the small venues I'm playing, and if I need more I can mic it and go through the PA. Thanks for the confirmation on the connections.
