Isn't that DL-4 in your effects chain digital HP? I use very minimal effects myself. Having the on amp stuff would make it more convenient, as long as the signal path is tube.
Moreley Wah occasionally>Voodoo Lab Microvibe>Voodoo Lab SparkleDrive>USA Fender Blues Deluxe.
Assorted other amps, guitars and effects owned.

Yeah you're right rjake. I like the parallel effects/all tube signal path idea. That would be awesome. And with an effects loop too.

Yep, I love my anolog stuff. The kiddies love the digital effects though and I guess there's more of them than us.

Ah, it's as I expected. Nobody has made a digi modelling amp that sounds like the real thing if you play them side by side.

Here's an idea for ANYONE FROM FENDER WHO MAY BE LISTENING - if they made a hand wired, PTP, blackface bassman head, to 60's specs then I reckon lots and lots of guitarists would want one. Gee, if they made a hand-wired PTP blonde bassman head even more would buy it. I recently bought one of the last 64 Custom Vibroverbs available in Australia and it's truly beautiful, a real brand new 60s Fender amp, just like granpa used to make. It has the tone, in bucketloads.... Yes it was very expensive, but yes it sounds as good as a 64 VV, or any original blackface Fender, and I was happy to pay for that sound. I love running two amps, for the spread, the extra air, and the feeling of a wide stereo tone... When I have the cash I'll be looking for an original bassman head to provide the other half of that stereo image, with a slightly different tone to the VV. Wish they'd make a new one.

I thought Fender had finally wised up to the fact that their biggest competition is THEIR old gear, and that's why they introduced the small collection of handwired amps they make. Please make a real bassman - lots of us want one. The Vibroverb is now discontinued and I'm glad I got one. Love a bassman head tho.

Strataholic, man you're gonna love that DRRI!!! I'm a huge advocate of the DRRI. As far as digital effects go on an amp, it's the same as the floor digital effects processors. These things never sound as good as a chain of analog pedals. (there may some out there, but I haven't heard one) Digital effects are very inexpensive and compact, and there's certainly a market for that. But, for those of us who seek the epitome of tone, it's all-tube amps and analog pedals. Period.

OMG - You are so right Prince! I can get the amp out of my mind. When I'm at work, I keep thinking about getting home to fire that bad boy up. The sound just sucks me in. I've tried just about everything... Amplitube, GR3, Mesa Boogie, GTR Solo, modeling from Fender (my favorite modeler), Line 6, VOX (not bad) and Marshall. Nothing beats that bubbly Fender tube amp tone and the DRRI is a classic!

Yeah, I love my sound right now, the Vibroverb and Ampeg V4 make for a rich stereo spread fer sure....
but, I owned a DRRI for a while too, and I also loved it. A classic, one of the all time great recording amps - not very versatile with pedals tho because of the lack of a bright switch.

So far mine has done great with every pedal... especially the Hardwire Metal Distortion and a Vintage Zoom Driver 5000!... certainly light years ahead of any modeler.

Yeah, there's no bright switch. But, Channel 1 (Normal) is like bright switch off, and Channel 2 (Vibrato) is like bright switch on. That's why most people, including myself, prefer channel 1. Although there's no reverb or vibrato on channel 1.
