Right now my twin has Sovtek 5881/6L6WGC tubes and I was wondering if I replaced them with any other 6L6GC tubes will I have to have the amp rebiased?

Most likely you will have to bias every time you change power tubes.

Can someone please tell me how to do that? Or where I could go on the net to get step by step instructions? Everywhere I look I run into dead ends that don't explain what needs to be done.

I have a 88 Re-Issue of the '65 Twin-Reverb. It currently has 4x6L6, 4x12AX7, and 2x12AT7. The tubes currently in the amp are stock, from 1988.
The tubes I ordered are Groove Tubes Red Series.

Please Help!!!!

Components drift over time and you should check/set you bias even with the same tubes in it occasionally.

To check/set the bias you need a multimeter and be comfortable sticking your hand into some very high (+500v) voltage areas, where accidental contact can be lethal.

This site will tell you how to do it for the HotRod amps, if you so choose to try.

Yours is a different amp principal is the same method different.
And here is a version I found for the current Twin

Aloha SteventriP, I'm curious about your '65 Twin reissue. You stated that it was made in '88? I'm not positive on this but I think that the reissue wasn't released until 1992 or 93. You might want to check it out. Good luck with your tube change.

Thank you for your reply, and I believe you're right.

The tech I'm talking to said the same thing.

I found a guy who's got better tubes than what I ordered, and can put them at a nice price. All in all the tubes and install are going to be cheaper than the tubes I ordered originally, and it will probably sound better too!!
