This may sound a bit strange but I'm out of ideas:

It seems as though I've read about this before. Using any guitar, any amp, any patch cords, when I play I get a ton of static snap, crackle and pop. I had it before, it went away for about a year or two and now it's back again. Am I possessed? Too much electrical energy in my body? Any thoughts?

Where, or what are you and the amp sitting on? Could be a static build-up from carpet or other materials maybe. 8)

Thanks for the info. This is what I thought. I tried lifting my feet and I still got the same results. Perhaps I should spray some dilute fabric softener and see what that does.
