I bought a new 300 pro Bass head last June. It is only used in my house for practicing and jamming. Never been out. I play lighetr stuff at local clubs and bars. In December it made a loud pop and flash when switching from standby to normal mode an dthen no sound. I took it to the local pro service center and they said it was a bad tube and replaced all 6 power tubes ($300) to be safe. It was fine until tonight. When I switched from standby to normal I heard a popping sound. It plays fine, but the sound has me worried. It makes the noise every time. This is ragardless what the volume or gain are set at. The tubes show a green light when on. I switched from an Ampeg SVT Pro Tube head and if this Fender head continues to mess up I will go back to Ampeg. I love the amp but it is less than a year old and already seems to be unreliable. I would be very hesitant to trust it playing out. Any ideas? I hate to drive an hour and a half to the service center again and be without it for a week, yet alone pay out of my pocket again.
