Hi,
I was wondering if anyone has any helpful tips on how to best silence the rattling LED. When I turn the volume up past three, certain notes will trigger it. The LED is not firmly seated in the metal housing. I could come at it with crazy glue I suppose. Any way of upgrading the LED to one of those purty blue ones? 8)

Thanks,
Will

Sorry, that's the first I've heard of that one- I assume you're talking about the channel light and I just don't know what else you could do other than what you've suggested- but everytime I use crazy glue I end up with my fingers glued to whatever it is I'm trying to glue and I pull it apart again when I think it's been long enough and I let go. . . I'm sure somebody will have more to offer- just stay tuned.

I have an even worse problem of buzz that either comes from the speaker or resonates from the speaker making something else buzz and I can't pin it down. I have tightened everything and just don't know what else to do. I bought a fender 412 cab so it's not something that really stops me from enjoying my SCXD, but I would still like to play without the cab sometimes just for fun and the buzz on low notes really bothers me- so I feel your pain. And yes the blue lights are much more stylesh than the red ones! Accept the classic Fender red jewel light, I've got to have one of those. 8)

Gotta love this amp!

Thanks guys. It is actually the Jewel light on the right side. Fits in there loosely. Rattles when I hit certain notes past volume 4. I had heard a different rattling before and found it in my metal tackle box that doubles as a music studio tool and gadget box. Amazing how those resonant frequencies are like water finding their own level.
Thanks,
Will

Have you tried to unscrew the jewel crown to see if it has something like a washer to rest on? Maybe you can just place some type of O ring or washer underneath or even wrap some clear scotch tape once around the jewel just to make it a little bigger and give the crown something to screw it down that will press against it softly and get rid of the buzz. Good luck.

I'll give it a try again. I had the impression that the SCXD does not have the threaded version of the jewel light housing with easy replacement.
Thanks for your idea. Hope I can get it off.

My bad, upon closer inspection I think you're right- it doesn't look like it's intended to unscrew from the front, but I haven't really tried to either. I don't see how else they can replace the bulb without removing the chasis or the entire face plate. You may have to send it to the service center to avoid-voiding your warranty. I don't like the thought of sending it in for something that simple, but you've gotta have your red jewel light. I know I coudn't live without mine!

Can you confirm this when you try??? I'm getting a SCXD, but wanted to change the jewel to blue.
