Hello all..
I've been playing around with my new HRD212 and lemme say that I love the tone, BUT I can't put the amp above 2 or the things in the room start rattling.. Not good.. Plus I've got neighbors to consider..
So, the question is this:
I wanna stay with something all tube, but I want something that I can push a little more, volume wise.. Any suggestions..
Also, I wanna stay in the same price range too..
Thanks in advance..

Jason

The high volume at 2 is due to the liniear volume pots in the amp, covered in a lot of other threads here :)
The hotrods seem to hit their max volume by 2 - 4 on the dial.,

Don't understand what you mean by "push a bit more volume wise", if you already think it is too loud.
Unless you want it to start breaking up earlier, in which case an OD pedal or a smaller amp like a Blues Junior might help.
Though even the BJ can get quite loud before it starts to overdirve.

Yep, the HRDV is really loud.If you are planning on performing at stadium size size venues then i would keep it.If not then maybe a HRDX or possibly a DRRI or a blues jr.A Drri is22 watts and a Bjr is 15.Clearly the DRRI is a superior amp, but it costs twice of what the Bjr is.

peterp- that's exactly what I meant, by being able to turn the volume up higher than 2-3 LOL..
I actually went into my local GC and tried a Blues Jr.. Very nice sounding amp for its size.. I had the drive all the way up and the volume at about 6 and it still wasn't as loud as the DeVille on 2.. LOL..

hey thanks for that bit of info there tomk.. I appreciate it..
I decided to ship it back to S'Water where I got it from.. I'm thinking of replacing it with the Blues Junior or maybe the Deluxe Reverb Re-Issue..
I'll probably stick with the Blues Junior though.. Since this will be used for primarily studio recordings..

Thanks again
