I bought a new Hot Rod Deluxe last week but after a few days playing the Drive Select Switch stoped working. I tried to use the footpedal but that didn't work either...
I called the store and has now left it there for service so it will be allright.

Has anyone heared about/had this problem?

Tell them to REPLACE IT, not repair it. It's brand new, or tell them to give you a refund and go someplace else. Do a forum seafch here and on Google and you'll see all the problems. My HRdlx had random channel switching, bad solder joints on the tube sockets, and a couple of other component problems a couple of months after I bought it.

Thanks for your response :)

I tried that but I got like 200 pages result here on the forum and millions on google.. But you sound like it's normal to have problems with these amps? :(
Is it just the Mexican made or the older American made models too?
Woudln't it be better in that case to repair it so you know that the soldering is good instead of receiving a new one that might get the same problem within some time?

Best regards

All current HotRod series amps are Mexican made.

It's the Hot Rod Series mostly. I know a lot of musicians who own them who've had problems with them. Some just give up and sell them, some build hand wired amps in them after they get tired of fixing them. Like I said, I've had nothing but problems with mine, Prolux has had his for something like 10 years and never had a problem. Some guys are starting to have issues with the new Champs and VM series right out of the box. Some amps are made here in the USA like the reissues, others are made in Mexico and China. It's pretty sad. I'm afraid to gig with my HRDlx anymore because it failed on stage a few times. My 74 Twin has never let me down. I get it checked every few years and got it recapped after roughly 25 years of hard gigging and rehearsing.

Make them replace it, not fix it. It's brand new. People have to take a harder stand against lousy quality control. When the amps or guitars are new and have problems other than a setup or blown bulb, make them give you a new one or get a refund and go someplace else or buy a different brand of equipment. Half the stuff today is built like crap.

Okay, you seem to know what your talking about. I'll talk to them and see what I can do about it.
I've bought all my other stuff there so I don't think there will be any problems.

Thanks for all your help and time :)
