I just noticed that Fender amps just went through the roof on Guitar Center and Musicians Friend. Ex. Twin Reverb up $400.00 and deluxe reverb up $300.00. With the economy the way it is, this was very stupid on Fender's part. Now they will make potential buyers look at other alternatives. I was about to purchase a Twin Reverb in a couple weeks and now I will look at different manufacturers. Thanks Fender for ruining my dream amp purchase!!! Guess I will go look at the Peavey Classic 30 or Genz Benz Black Pearl

The price increase has been in the news for quite a while now.

There are several active threads on it here on the Forum too.

Manufacturer does not seem to matter much,
price jump seems to be on most items at the music shops to varying degrees.

SG I was looking at jumped up to 2300$cdn. was 1700$cdn at Christmas.

You would think in todays economic times that a price decrease would be the way to stimulate sales. Evidently the music industry is not effected by the downturn. I know I have just bought a few items (amp, cabinet, tubes), but I am single. What about the family man? Luckily I bought just a couple weeks before the price increases.

Hello Nghtraider,

Yeah it's a bummer.
I'll still get what I need,
It'll just take longer.

Cheers.

Yah, the prices have gone up.

I paid $329 with free shipping for my SCXD on the 25th. It is now $398.

I love mine. It's too bad the prices have gone up, but, hey that's life.

yes there beating that dead horse over on the Strat site. But I must admit Fender has made some huge increases. Interesting move in this economy. BTW I paid $252 for my floor sample SCXD at GC.

SCXD is still 329.00 in store at G.C. here. Also noted that the Blues Deluxe is 699.00 in store, 899.99 online, and the Hot Rod Deluxe was also 699.00 in store, 848.99 online. I was very curious after seing those prices so I looked at the strats and there was no to very little difference in prices from last year that I noticed. I asked more than one employee if those were the regular prices and was told yes and they had no clue about any price increases. So for whatever that's worth there are still lower prices to be had, in store at least, for now. 8)

No not at all, just making a comment for those that may not visit the Strat Forum. My aren't we a bit sensitive?

Wrong answer, a lot of these concurrently running "oh my the price has increased" threads are being locked and or deleted by Brad,

Before you post Use the MAGIC search button to find if the topic is already running and add to that thread.
Otherwise you are just adding the the background noise.
